Mission Statement
The Global Leadership Academy for Homeschoolers (GLA) is a fourth through twelfth-grade educational youth organization for homeschool students. It is our mission to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership. Our goal is to provide a solid extra-curricular program that develops leaders who will make a positive contribution to the world.
It Began With Beta
In 2018, I made the decision to charter a Senior Beta Club for my fourteen-year-old. As a homeschooling Mom, I wanted to provide my son learning opportunities that I could not give him at home. There are life skills like problem-solving, team-work, compromise, and conflict resolution that can not be taught from a textbook. How do I put him in an environment where he has to collaborate with a team of students who are not his brothers? What will he be able to put on a college or scholarship application when he is asked about a time he had to complete a difficult task? How do I build his high school resume’?
The National Beta Club offered the learning experience that I wanted to provide for my son. I decided to make this opportunity available to other homeschool families in the Metro Atlanta area and now we are all on this journey together!
Homeschool Beta Club Holds Fall Induction
The National Beta Club allows homeschool groups to select the name of its charter and hence “The Global Leadership Academy for Homeschoolers” was born. It’s a little long, but looks amazing on a high school resume’ 😉. The rest is history!
In 2019, I chartered a Junior Beta Club for my younger sons. The Junior Beta Club includes fourth through eighth-grade students. This age group now has the opportunity to serve the community, compete in academics and arts, and grow in leadership during the elementary years through the Beta Club. I am grateful for the homeschool families who are equally vested in their student’s involvement in our charter.
GLA looks to expand its reach locally and online in the upcoming school year. We look forward to empowering homeschoolers all over the country. If you are interested in GLA for your homeschool student, please provide your email address below for updates.

From Me to You
To know Him and to make Him known. It is my prayer that God uses this platform to bless you and all the little ones that you have the opportunity to love and come in contact with. Thank you for joining our family as we walk out this exciting experience to develop the whole child. I hope you enjoy your visit!
Our Beta Club Journey
The Induction Ceremony
Each school year, GLA takes applications for membership into our Beta Club. After the application process is complete, formal invitations to join our charter are sent. We then host a formal Induction Ceremony to welcome our new students to the club. Our ceremony uses candles to represent the four pillars of Beta: Achievement, Character, Leadership, and Service. The new inductees take the Beta Pledge and we complete our ceremony. GLA’s inductions are kind of a big deal 😊!
Leadership Summit
The Leadership Summit is a two day event held in Lagrange, Georgia that engages members in a comprehensive leadership curriculum. Through various exhibitions and challenges, participants learn more about collaboration, communication and critical thinking. Officer training is also available at Leadership Summits. During the event, resources are provided for clubs to take back to their respective groups.
State Convention
Beta’s annual Georgia convention allows students the chance to interact, share project ideas, and showcase their academic and leadership abilities among students in their state. Betas compete in academics, arts, and talent competitions for a chance to win 1st-5th place awards and qualify for Nationals. There are over 30 different competitions for our students. In addition, they attend General Sessions and meet fellow Betas from around the state forming valuable connections.
Both GLA’s Junior and Senior clubs have done well in our competitions. The preparation to compete in the state competition is rewarding in itself. The students learn so much in the process!

Community Service
“Let Us Lead By Serving Others” is National Beta’s motto. Serving the community is a great way to help develop character and leadership skills, while learning about the joy of giving back! GLA Beta members are required to participate in a minimum of 10 Beta Club service hours per semester.
Public Acknowledgements
Our GLA students were acknowleged for their contributions to their communities by local governments. It is always a special time to have our homeschool students acknowledged by community leaders.
