Before you read my formal bio, I’d love for you to know this first…
I’m the daughter of a King who loves me unconditionally and because of that love, I am a devoted wife to an incredible husband who loves me bunches, an absolutely committed mother of four boys learning and perfecting as I go and a girl crazy enough to believe that I have a major assignment to complete here on earth and in that assignment is life to the fullest.
So if you don’t remember anything else about me, like where I grew up or what college I attended, will you please remember those things? Because that’s me. That’s what drives me. That what keeps me “All In!”
Melanie Scott received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Electronics Technology from North Carolina A&T State University (2000) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Starting her career as a software engineer during the infancy stage of eCommerce at International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation, Melanie discovered her niche in project management, which led to her Project Management Institute certification in 2006. As a certified Project Manager, she led the development and implementation of technology projects partnering with teams in Japan, Brazil, Europe and India to deliver solutions for internal and corporate accounts.
While working from home, Melanie began to feel the weight and significance of motherhood after the birth of her first son. Post-delivery of her second son, her desire for the accelerated path to corporate leadership became lesser of a priority in comparison to the focus on her sons. In May 2009, Melanie’s employment with IBM ended and full time “domestic engineer” became her new assignment.
As a daughter of youth ministry leaders, Melanie was introduced to a life devoted to student development at an early age. From serving at inner-city summer camps at nine years old to the Girl Scouts’ Power of Girls as a young adult, Melanie invested her time into numerous organizations relative to the advancement of middle and high school students. In 2006, she served as the coordinator and curriculum developer for a proactive youth developmental process that equipped young men and women to become positive global contributors. In addition, Melanie facilitated multiple teams in curriculum development and activities to promote students to compete on a global level and a rites of passage for Vow of Purity.
In 2005, Melanie began to feel a significant pull toward the development of younger children (infant to 5th grade). This transition began to materialize as she spent more time with her first two sons, and started applying new parenting methods. Seeing immediate fruit from those methods further stirred up the passion to train and equip young children before middle school. These methods combined with unique strategies will use The Pentagon to deliver resources that will touch God’s children in a new and exciting way.
A normal day finds Melanie homeschooling her boys. Inherited from her father, she is a math and science girl. Melanie tends to communicate in bullet points as the hearer can get lost in too many words and more importantly a child might call her name if she doesn’t hurry and get what she needs to say out!
Both committed to becoming a model of Christ in marriage and family, Melanie and her husband Anthony of fifteen years are the grateful parents of four sons. They currently reside in Acworth, Geogia, right outside the city of Atlanta.
