“Children are hungry for God, their Creator.
Children want to feel God’s presence.
Children want to hear God’s voice.
Children want to experience God’s power.”
Redefining Children’s Ministry in the 21st Century
Imagine with me…
- A child walks into a hospital, lays hands on a cancer patient, and prays for complete healing in that patient’s body. The patient leaves the hospital cancer free the same day.
- An elementary student ministers the gospel of Jesus Christ to a group of students during recess, and begins discipleship during their free time. The new believers in Christ then take the message home to their parents, changing the environment of their home forever…
- A young boy who hears and sees clearly from God is given a vision for a lady at the grocery store. He courageously approaches the lady to share the vision with her. The lady begins to cry because of the accuracy of the child’s words.
Acts 2:17 says, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions…” You will notice there are no age restrictions in this verse.
Allow me to help you to change your mind about the spiritual capacity of your child. We introduce solids to our infants at six months old, but the body of Christ is guilty of feeding children the milk of God’s word until they reach 12 and 13 years old. This ideology fails to produce committed disciples of our faith who know their identity in Christ.
Change your mind about the spiritual capacity of your child.
We must give our children the meat of God’s Word as we begin teaching them their ABCs and 123s. Using object lessons, allowing children to activate their faith and exercise their gifts, and creating an awareness of God’s presence are beautiful ways to build an unbreakable bond between our Holy God and His child.
